Accumulators
Heat is stored either for cost reasons (e.g. night tariff ) or for the reason that the output of heat production (e.g. solar, wood or heat pump heating) and the required output (e.g. need for domestic water) vary. In water circulation heating systems heat is stored by means of a heating device into the water of the thermal storage tank. The thermal storage tank is equipped with an efficient heat storage and discharge technique, and the energy is consumed from the tank to the heating of the building or domestic water.
Regardless of the source of energy used or the technique applied to heating, modern heating devices are required to be versatile, energy efficient and environmentally friendly. A thermal storage tank has a central role in a modern heating system because it is independent of the source of energy. It allows different forms of energy to be connected together and used in parallel, and on the other hand, the changing of the source of energy in the future.
There are many application possibilities. When connected to wood heating, an energy charger facilitates and reduces the heating and cleaning work, whereas in connection with pellet heating, an energy charger optimizes the operating periods of a burner improving this way the operating efficiency of the devices. A thermal storage tank suits excellently to be used as a buffer charger also in connction with solar and heat pump heating.
The wide thermal storage tank range of Jäspi contains suitable options for new and renovated buildings, with regard to both size and technique. High-quality freon-free polyurethan insulation is used for the insulation in tanks. There are a great number of couplings available in Jäspi tanks for connecting different heating devices. Solar heating can be installed to thermal storage tanks also afterwards (either by means of a solar coil or a separate Jäspi Solbox heat exchanger).
Service water is heated in the chargers by means of a domestic water coil (stainless steel or copper). In hybrid thermal storage tanks, designed to be used in particular alongside with air-to-water heat pumps, the domestic water is heated by means of a stainless steel tank placed within the charger. The sufficiency of domestic hot water is ensured this way in a low heat system.
